Rules (Things you need to read BEFORE signing up):

  • Most important rule of them all: The Race Directors are ALWAYS right. Don`t discuss too much with them, they don`t like that too much …
  • Every hour the start is given and you run a lap. If for some reason you are not at the start the next hour you will be marked as Did Not Finish (DNF). Don`t DNF, just keep going!
  • Everybody will DNF in the end. There is a way to avoid this though. When everybody else DNF`ed and you run a whole loop within the cut-off (1 hour) alone you will get the winners trophy. If you do not finish this within an hour, or the last loop is ran by two or more people, everybody will get a DNF.
  • Winner (and only finisher) will get a trophy, people who do more than 100 miles will get a participation medal aka DNF medal. If for some reason you decide to DNF before the 100 mile mark has been reached you get only get a DNF, nothing else.
  • You join Another One Bites the Dust because you want to push yourself to the limits, not to have a training run. AOBtD is made to get you out of your comfort zone. If you for some weird reason like it to stop, just DNF like so many other people did before you …
  • Mandatory Items: Whatever you think you need, you are old and wise (doubtful as you plan on entering) enough to take care of yourself for less than 6km …
  • Basecamp, known as the starting/finishing point of each loop, is where you eat, sleep, cry, whine and DNF. Food and drinks are cooked by Master Chefs and they taste heavenly delicious (and please tell them that!). There is a medic in basecamp, no ambulance … You need more than a medic, just call 112 and DNF …
  • Loud and Clear – NO pacer/company during the run other than participants who choose to do it in group and that applies for ALL loops. Spirits and ghosts are accepted exceptions. If you are phobic with being alone or in the darkness, this might be a terrible experience. Don’t try to be smart in circumventing this rule by giving us “But…he only hikes halfway with me”, “what if she coincidently hikes the fields same day/night as me?”, “I am so exhausted and I need…” – Just shut up and DNF.
  • Trail is visibly marked. Any path that requires you to machete your way out is probably the wrong path. Having said that, people do get lost, don`t be the one who does …
  • UTMB/ITRA Points are not given … Why would we?
  • Loop Cut-off is one hour. Every hour you need to stand at the starting line or quietly DNF like the ones before you, just don`t be the first one …
  • Once again – Don’t argue. Don’t negotiate. Don’t complain. We don’t aim to please, we aim to put on a great event. Having said all this, we still believe we are quite accommodating and nice fellows.
